We hope to give you the opportunity to stop, relax and recharge your batteries in a natural environment.
Mill Cross Retreats has grown organically to be a little haven where we look after our six acres of land, manage the trees, grow fruit and vegetables, keep goats, chickens and our beloved Spaniel, Juno.
Two places to stay, each completely private, each with its own woodfired hot tub. Well located between Dartmoor and the sea, close to Totnes and Dartington, Ben's Farm Shop, and a brilliant local pub, The Church House Inn.

Hand-built shepherd's hut
A secluded Devon retreat for your cosy countryside escape, perfect for a private and intimate getaway.
We stock the hut with books, board games and gentle lighting, creating a peaceful sanctuary free from distraction. Just a few steps away is the bathroom hut, which houses a spacious hot shower and sink, with fluffy towels and organic Faith in Nature toiletries.
Self-contained annexe cottage
The perfect couples' retreat in South Devon, with a romantic woodfired hot tub.
Our self-contained annexe cottage welcomes babies up to one year old and up to two dogs, with a handmade kitchen, a woodburner, and a sunny terrace of its own. The hot tub sits beside it, screened by willow hurdles and a beech hedge.

06 — Your hosts
We've lived in Devon for over 30 years and are passionate about supporting independent, local businesses, the environment, organic and sustainability.
We moved to Mill Cross from Totnes in 2018 with the idea that we wanted to offer exceptional quiet, relaxing places for couples to stay. At the time, Kevin was a carpenter and Emma was running a wedding catering business.
In summer 2022 we found our cat Pickles in a car engine, and she's become a core fixture, very popular with guests and family alike. That same year we established The Bakehouse @ Mill Cross Retreats.
